If you're a diver used to diving in foul water (or worse) with
conventional diving equipment you will be aware of the problems associated with
skin rashes and even more importantly contaminated water entering the helmet, it
definitely doesn't taste nice!
A
solution to these unpleasant and dangerous problems now exists with Dirty Harry,
a contaminated water diving system which uses saturation diving technology in
the shape of a gas reclaim helmet, a lightweight umbilical and a vacuum panel.
The equipment has been developed by Divex of Aberdeen a leading innovator and
supplier of state of the art diving equipment.
Part of the Pressure Products Group of companies, Divex recently shipped a
complete 'Dirty Harry' diving system to America for use in heavily contaminated
water.
'Dirty Harry' protects the diver by using the same basic system as mixed gas
saturation divers, who breath expensive helium mixtures which are recycled when
exhausted by the diver. The helmet is fitted with a Divex Ultra Flow balanced
2nd stage regulator which when combined with the Ultrajewel 601 exhaust
regulator provides a very dry helmet. The divers incoming and exhaust gases are
balanced so as to provide very easy breathing. The helmet is yoked to a Divex
dry suit which seals off the divers neck and gives complete freedom of movement
without any danger of leakage through neck dam seal. when combined with special
gloves this gives the maximum protection possible, apart from not going in the
water that is!
The system comes with its own vacuum panel which uses the divers air supply
to create exactly the correct suction pressure to literally take your breath
away! The system comes with two complete sets of diving equipment including a
smaller than usual umbilical.
