USBL tracking system is game changer for mini-ROV

UK-based Planet Ocean has announced that the Deep Trekker, Canada, mini-ROV is now available with integrated Tritech, UK, MicronNav USBL tracking system.

“Piloting the Deep Trekker ROVs are extremely easy to do, although there is an added complexity when you cannot see where the ROV is underwater,” said Planet Ocean. “With this new integration, operators can map the path that the Deep Trekker ROV takes while completing underwater inspections.”

ROBUST

“This new integration is a game changer for the Deep Trekker DTG2 ROV,” said Sam Macdonald, Deep Trekker president. “Not only do we provide a robust and manoeuvrable ROV for an affordable price, but we now also provide the sophisticated options previously only available on much larger, costly and cumbersome ROVs.”

Bowtech introduces LED-S-Series lamp

Bowtech Products, UK, has announced the arrival of the LED-S-Series lamp, a smaller, 10,000-lumen “baby” version of the company’s 20,000-lumen LED-V-Series underwater floodlight.

“The LED-S-Series lamp has been designed to offer a smaller, lighter and lower lumen output than our LED-V-Series using the same highly successful technology,” said Bowtech. “Outputting up to 10,000 lumens with a beam angle of 80 degrees in water (narrower angles are available), the lamp is ideal for illuminating large areas for HD viewing tasks.”

Available as either 100-120 volts AC or 130-150 volts DC, the new lamp is rated to operate at 6000 metres ocean depth.
